a fine time was had by all

Our first fundraiser is behind us and totals are still being added.

When we set out to do a fundraiser for our little organization, I was dubious as to whether we could pull it off. Would people want to attend? Would people want to donate? Would enough money be raised in order to cover the costs of the function? Could we handle a silent auction? Are silent auctions a draw?

YES. A RESOUNDING YES!

As the night progressed, I sat in a chair under the stars, surveying the beautiful horse farm where the event was held, watching people mingle and talk. Great music in the background provided by local musicians, fine food provided by friends and local restaurants, wine, lemonade, sodas and water flowing (it was very very hot - lots of liquid refreshments were poured) and people having a great time. There was laughter, chatter and lots of interest in our organization.

We raised more money than expected, we had new people find about us and people want to be involved.

All and all, a resounding success
